My Daughter The Animal Lover

For anyone who doesn't already know, we have 3 cats, a parrot, 2 hermit crabs and several other exterior strays that come to our backdoor everyday for a free meal. We have had hamsters in the past and a dog at one time along with many other treasures that my daughter has brought home like lightening bugs, butterfly's, and frogs.

Tara loves animals. She loves them more than humans. Seriously. She cry's during any movie where an animal is harmed. Ever seen the Disney movie, 8 below? A dog dies in the movie. She cried when it happened and cried for the remainder of the movie. When we tried to watch it a year later, she began crying at the beginning because she knew the dog would eventually die.

Tara seen our cat Gabby trying to catch a bird yesterday and picked her up and put her in the house. Needless to say, Gabby got out again (a few times actually) and Tara would chase her all over and put her back in the house because she didn't want any birds to be harmed.

We had friends over and spent most of the afternoon on the deck. Tara had to come in for something and realized Tristons cat was playing with something. Tara went over to check it out and realized it was a baby bird. She grabbed the cat and threw her out of the way and then grabbed the bird. (Triston is still mad at her for throwing his cat) She brought this helpless little mess out to us. Its too young to fly but it does have some feathers. Anyways, to make a long story short, we have had to set it up a Rubbermaid tub for a temporary home while we feed it and hope for its survival.

Today is day number 2 and it is still alive. Terry and Tara feed it mushed up Zoey protein food. They dissolve it in warm water and use a syringe to get it to its mouth. I will post a picture after it looks a little better.
