The Bandage Is Off

Do you think it is weird that you have to actually write on the body part that is to be operated on? I just think it is scary that a surgeon can make a mistake, not read the chart, forget his left from right, totally ignore the fact that an area is shaven unlike the rest or anything else.

The nurse wrote "YES" after Cam, Terry, and I all came to the agreement that the left knee was to be operated on. Then she checked the chart to make sure we all knew what we were talking about. Then she wrote on him.

Do you like my smiling face that I added to her "Y"? I couldn't help myself. The nurse left the room but forgot her marker. I almost wrote on the other knee that they might want to peek around in there because it has been causing pain for Cam lately, but the guys talked me out of it.
