Triston had been looking forward to the competitions. He chose to compete in the 100 meter dash, jump roping, and
javelin throwing areas. It was super exciting. There were 4 different elementary schools competing in several areas. The kids were limited to only 3 choices. The announcer would name the event and the kids who were scheduled to compete would meet on the field and everyone else waited in the stands. The kids in the stands held up signs of encouragement for their school and would cheer on their fellow team mates. Even though these kids were working themselves to the max, they were having a blast.
When we arrived to the events, we were looking around to find
Triston and guess who we saw out there helping all the little kids?

Well...he is supposed to be helping the kids. It looks more like he is chatting. He did get busy after that though. His job was to measure the distance for the football throw. It's nice that he volunteered but all in all it was probably a ploy to get out of regular classes.
Triston's first event was the javelin throw.
Wow...what can I say? Triston even surprised the teen judges. The girl in the red had to jump back out of the way. You can see his javelin still in the air and passing them.
Triston's next event was the jumping rope contest. Did I mention that the kids chose their activities? My first thought was, that's kinda a girlie thing to do but apparently Triston is really good at jumping rope and he likes it.

His final event was the 100 meter dash. Check him out.

A great finish.

Ready for the conclusion? The judges all got together to tally their scores for all of the kids from each of the schools and
Triston was awarded a ribbon. He took 4
th place in the jumping rope contest. That 4
th place was out of all 4 of the elementary schools in our town. That's
alot of kids.
Triston tells me that he was awarded the ribbon and they stated that he accomplished 61 jumps in 1 minute. That's great!
